Everlasting gobstopper

So my mom refuses to get rid of either of these plants. She says they're still alive because they each still have some green on them. I told her I would post a picture and a poll asking if they should stay or go... The plant with the twig like stems has a little insert in the soil that reads "year-round color". Obviously this does not apply.
