The first year I lived here I turned on all the lights and sat on the steps with a bowl of candy. No one came.

Last two years I got candy; no one came.

This year I didn't even bother to get any candy. The lights are off. Kids came. I felt so bad turning them away. I can only hope they don't decide to egg my house.

I've always lived in a neighbor with lots of kids so we always knew lots of kids would come. Well, now we don't have candy because it's mainly other college students here, but we have a little bit, mostly for our 5 year old next door neighbor.
Awww. I'm sorry. We are in a neighborhood with hundreds of kids but very few actually make it to our block (the middle of the subdivision). Add into that the fact that our village only allows trick or treating from 4-7 so I barely got up to hand out treats and those who showed up got two handfuls each.
